[Diagon Alley, Anyone] [Evening]
As soon as she was finished running Flint's errands for the day, Astoria set out to shop for a few things for the new flat. She was already completely packed, though there was still some time until the first of September. She was nothing if not well-prepared. A lot of the things in her room belonged to Daphne, and so she would need to completely furnish her new bedroom. She rather looked forward to matching upholstery and drapes and a comforter with the shade of purple on the wall. She picked up a book at Flourish and Blotts on enlargement charms to see what she could do about the bedroom's closet, and then wandered towards the shop that sold charmed furniture. She'd always fancied having a talking mirror.

[Diagon Alley, Anyone] [Morning]
Astoria was perched on the steps of a shop that was closed on Sundays, a stack of newspapers beside her and a notebook in her hands. She'd spent the day before looking at flats and now she was trying to choose. The newspapers all had ads for flats, with the ones she'd seen circled to remind her of their amenities. The nicer ones in Diagon proper were too expensive. Flats in Hogsmeade above shops were more reasonably priced but a bit too far out of her way. She was probably going to have to get a muggle place, which she didn't entirely mind, she was just having issues finding one that was nice, allowed pets, and was close to Diagon Alley. The hunt was not going as smoothly as she'd hoped and she was sure she'd have to seek advice soon. There was also so much shopping to do and she'd likely have to hire a decorator. So many lists and plans and organization- she was glad that she actually enjoyed this sort of thing.

[Cafe in Diagon, Roger then Flint] [Afternoon]
It was absolutely humiliating. Astoria had yet to be able to face her sister and she was doing her best to believe that Daphne had no idea. She also wanted to believe that Roger didn't know either- but that didn't exactly excuse his behavior. She was doing her best to remain calm and she'd sent him an owl asking Roger to meet her here. He was, at the moment, getting the benefit of the doubt. But she still felt physically ill whenever she thought about it. Astoria ordered a coffee and waited, trying to get through some paperwork for Flint but finding it hard to concentrate.

[Flat, Daphne] [Evening]
Astoria sighed to herself, sitting at the dining room table, looking miserable. It was ridiculous, and Astoria knew it. Absolutely ridiculous, she told herself over and over. It was just one date, she reminded herself repeatedly. It was ridiculous and impossible for her to be completely head over heels for someone after just one date...but she couldn't stop thinking about that stupid charming Roger Davies. She wanted advice, but she was almost afraid to tell Daphne about it. Perhaps she could talk to her without giving many details. She also felt more than a little conflicted- after all, she did perhaps have the tiniest little infatuation for her employer. Now that was ridiculous. Still, she could not shake the feeling that in some way she was betraying Flint because she had feelings for Roger and she felt like she was betraying herself for caring so much so fast. This was entirely unlike her. Though, to be perfectly fair, it wasn't as though she'd been allowed much contact with young men when she'd lived with her parents and overbearing Grandmother. She had especially not been permitted to date. It was all rather novel.

[Flint's place then wherever, Flint] [Ridiculously early]
Astoria awoke at four thirty and by five she was standing outside Flint's front door, knocking lightly. It was chilly, drizzling and dark out and she held a steaming cardboard cup of coffee between her fingers as she waited for his house elf to answer the door. Today, she'd decided, she would be a good assistant, like Daphne's- who was always around. She had been running Flint's errands the past few weeks. His files and pressed clothing and whatever else he required appeared when he needed it, and she did everything asked of her- remotely. He just never seemed to be at home and left her notes and sent her owls. The system worked well, it was nice to work mostly from home, but seeing Daphne's assistant made her feel a bit guilty. She was going to spend the entire day with Flint being properly helpful.

[Early Evening, Anyone, Attn: Flint] [The Endymion]
Astoria sent the following note to Flint:
Mr. Flint,
I was hoping you might meet me in the Posh room of the Endymion this evening at your earliest convenience. I have a matter of some importance to discuss with you. Thank you.
~Astoria
She then dressed in a nice dress and headed to the Endymion, hoping Flint would show up. She had seen his want ad for an assistant and was beginning to think a change in career might be in order.

[Office building where PANSY clothing company is housed, then Diagon Alley, Anyone] [Late afternoon]
"No, really Sylvia, go with whichever color suits you. Go with both. Go with stripes. Go with polka dots. You don't have to come to me for every little decision. That's why you're head of the design department," Astoria did her best to smile kindly at the young woman next to her who looked flustered. It had been a long day.
"Are you sure?" Sylvia asked. "Because it's only the one style and-"
"And people will buy several different colors and designs in the same style top if they like it," Astoria interrupted. "I promise. I've got four of the same skirt in four different colors."
"Well, if you're sure..." Sylvia bit her lip uncertainly and Astoria allowed herself the tiniest of sighs.
"Absolutely. One hundred percent, certain. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a meeting." She waved goodbye and finally stepped off the office building's front stoop. Of course, the meeting was a lie- unless you counted a cup of coffee and a book a meeting. She took the Knight Bus to Diagon Alley and settled down outside a little coffee shop, pulling a novel from her bag. She needed a few moments to relax. Now she understood why Pansy had practically pawned off the day to day running of the company on her. It was exhausting.

[The Endymion, Anyone] [Evening]
Though her elder sister hadn't had the best time here last week, Astoria still had the give the club that everyone was talking about a try. Besides, she wanted a glimpse of the Weird Sister's bloke who owned it. She picked out her newest dress and headed for the club once night fell. It wasn't very busy at first but as the night wore on she found the place filling up. As she sat at the bar in the Posh Room she was accosted more and more often by random blokes and finally begged the attractive bartender to help her fend them off. They had a nice conversation about shoes as she drank cosmopolitans.

[Daphne's Flat, Daphne] [Evening]
Astoria paced the living room, picking things up now and then and examining them without actually seeing them. She'd wanted to speak with her sister for days but as yet had not seen it. It seemed that whenever one of them was at home the other was out. Astoria was highly upset at the news of her sister and Harry's breakup, regardless of how long ago it had been, and was even more unhappy that no one had bothered to tell her. An indignant letter to her mother on the subject got nothing more but a terse reply that explained nothing and only advised her to ask her sister. That was just what Hannah had said, and Potter too. She refused to believe that her emotionally guarded sister was at all "over" the young man she'd deigned special enough to meet their parents and thought the idea laughable that Daphne and Harry were actually on good terms.

[Hogsmeade Sanctuary, Charlie] [Mid-Morning]
"Stop wagging your tail, Rhea," Astoria grumbled at the black crup in her arms. In response, Rhea's tail whipped faster than the cosmetic charm on it could handle. It was blatantly obvious that the canine creature's tail was not to regulation. Astoria had slipped by in America with a bribe from her parents to the man who originally registered and tested the crup puppy. Now that she had to get Rhea registered in England, she was not sure that she would be able to keep her fork-tailed pet.
Nervously she entered the sanctuary's main building, trying to keep the crup's tail hidden as she struggled to keep the curious canine in her grasp.
